Concrete Contractor in Blue Grass, IA Serving the Quad Cities

We are Muddy Rivers Concrete, a veteran-owned concrete contractor based in Blue Grass, Iowa. Todd Flammang started this company in 2017, but the truth is he has been doing this work most of his life. He was 7 years old the first time he helped his father on a job. After high school, he enlisted in the Army. After that came concrete work on military bases in Kansas and Missouri, then union commercial jobs in the Quad Cities, then two years doing union work in San Diego. When he came back to Iowa for good, he brought all of that with him. Every pour we do reflects that background.

If you are looking for a concrete contractor near me with real experience across residential and commercial work, you found us. We do not cut corners and we do not oversell. We give you a free estimate, explain what the job actually needs, and get it done right.

What We Do

Our work covers a wide range of concrete services for homeowners and businesses across the Quad Cities area. Whether it is a new driveway, a commercial parking lot , a stamped concrete patio , or a full foundation addition , we handle it with the same attention to detail on every job.

Here is what we work on:

Brown house with brick facade, concrete walkway, green lawn, sunny day.

Concrete Driveways and Sidewalks

A concrete driveway is one of the best investments a homeowner can make. Done properly, it will last decades. The problem is most driveways that crack or sink were not built properly to begin with. We install a minimum of 4 inches of base rock before any concrete is poured. We reinforce with 1/2 inch fiberglass rebar tied on 30 inch centers, set on 2 inch chairs so the rebar sits in the middle of the slab where it actually does its job. After the pour, we apply a salt guard sealer to protect the surface. Concrete sidewalks get the same treatment. This is how it should be done.

Concrete Driveways, Repair, and Replacement

Cracked concrete does not always mean full replacement. Sometimes it does. We look at what you have, tell you honestly what it needs, and give you options. Concrete driveway repair is something we do regularly, and when a driveway is too far gone, we tear it out and start over the right way. If your previous contractor skipped the base rock or used the wrong reinforcement, you will see it eventually. We see it all the time.

Concrete Patio Installation and Sealing

A concrete patio should look good and hold up. That means proper prep, proper reinforcement, and a sealer that protects the surface long term. We do concrete patio installation for homeowners all across the Quad Cities. Stamped concrete is popular for patios and we work with a range of patterns and finishes. If you want something that looks like stone or brick but holds up better over time, stamped concrete is worth a conversation. Concrete patio sealing is also something we do after installation and as a standalone service for existing patios that need protection.

Stamped Concrete

Stamped concrete gives you the look of natural materials without the maintenance headaches. We use it for patios, walkways, pool surrounds, and driveways. The finish options are wide and we are happy to walk you through what works for your project and your budget during the free estimate.

Polished Concrete Floors and Finished Floors

Polished concrete floors are durable, low maintenance, and look sharp in the right space. We do finished floors for residential and commercial properties. Garages, basements, retail spaces, and commercial interiors are all common applications. If you are tired of painted concrete that chips or epoxy that peels, a properly finished floor is worth looking at.

Foundation Addition and Foundation Drainage Solutions

Foundation work is where experience really matters. A foundation addition done wrong can create serious structural problems down the road. We have worked on foundations for homes, garages, and commercial buildings. We also address foundation drainage solutions when water is getting where it should not. This is usually where people run into problems if they wait too long.

Concrete Parking Lots

We build concrete parking lots for commercial properties throughout the Quad Cities area. Concrete holds up better under heavy traffic than asphalt and costs less to maintain over time. If you are building new or replacing an existing lot, we can put together a free estimate and walk you through what the job involves.

Concrete Gas Station Construction

Gas station concrete is a specialized category. The pump islands, drive lanes, and parking areas all take heavy, repetitive traffic and exposure to fuel spills. The concrete has to be built right or it deteriorates fast. Gas station construction cost varies depending on scope, but we are upfront about pricing and we do not surprise you. We have done this work and we know what it takes.

Drain Repair

Floor drains and trench drains take a beating. We remove and replace damaged drains and restore the concrete around them. This is common in commercial kitchens, garages, and industrial spaces.

Looking for a Concrete Contractor Near Me?

Here Is What Sets Us Apart.

A lot of people search for "concrete contractor near me" and get a long list of names. Here is how we are different.

Todd has been doing this since he was a kid. He worked on military bases, worked union jobs in multiple states, and spent years working for contractors in the Quad Cities before starting Muddy Rivers Concrete. That means when he shows up to look at your job, he has seen a lot. He knows what causes concrete to fail, and he knows how to build it so it does not.

We are veteran-owned and operated. That matters to some people and we are proud of it.

We are also honest about what your project needs. If the job calls for 4 inches of base rock, you get 4 inches. If we think you need a full replacement instead of a patch, we tell you. We give free estimates and we explain our process clearly. No pressure, no runaround.

We serve Blue Grass, the Quad Cities, Eldridge, LeClaire, DeWitt, Muscatine, Clinton, Walcott, Durant, and surrounding areas. If you are unsure whether we cover your area, give us a call.

Foundation Contractors Near Me You Can Trust

Foundation work does not leave much room for error. If you are searching for foundation contractors near me, you want someone who has handled more than a few of these jobs. We have worked on foundation additions for residential and commercial properties and we take the structural side of this work seriously. Proper prep, proper reinforcement, proper drainage. The details matter.

If your foundation has drainage issues, we address those too. Foundation drainage solutions are often part of a larger foundation project, but we handle them as standalone work as well. Call us and we will take a look.

Concrete Driveway Contractors With a Track Record

If you have had a driveway crack or sink after a few years, the problem almost always goes back to installation. Concrete driveway contractors who skip the base layer or use wire mesh instead of rebar are setting you up for problems. We do not do that.

Every driveway we install gets a minimum 4-inch base, 1/2 inch fiberglass rebar on 2-inch chairs at 30 inch centers, and a salt guard sealer when the job is done. These are not extras. They are how concrete driveways should be built.
